Canadian chemical manufacturers: The GHS compliance deadline has been pushed back one year.

Members of the Canadian Paint and Coating Association and other Canadian producers of goods covered by Hazardous Products Regulations (HPR) should take note of a recent announcement: While companies were initially expected to adhere to the Globally Harmonized Standard of chemical labeling (GHS) by the end of this month, the date has been extended by a year to June 1, 2018 for manufacturers and importers.

The delay doesn’t mean companies should relax, however. If your company is a CPCA member organization that hasn’t yet gotten its labeling in line with GHS, now is the time to take action.
