The company recently announced what it calls the “one brand” approach. In a broader sense, this means that all Coca-Cola products will be represented by a new global ad campaign titled “Taste the Feeling.” This program will roll out throughout 2016. One of the most notable changes will be the look of its canned and bottled Coca-Cola beverages.

Most consumers recognize the familiar red color of Coca-Cola Classic, silver Diet Coke, black Coke Zero and green Coca-Cola Life. The new branding strategy aims to better integrate the different offerings. Each label will now contain a significant amount of the Classic red color, with hints of each original color to indicate the specific product variant.
“We are reinforcing that Coca-Cola is for everybody,” Chief Marketing Officer Marcos de Quinto said in a press release. “Coca-Cola is one brand with different variants, all of which share the same values and visual iconography. People want their Coca-Cola in different ways, but whichever one they want, they want a Coca-Cola brand with great taste and refreshment.”
Coca-Cola is struggling to reverse sluggish sales as consumers turn away from sugary and artificially-sweetened soft drinks. In 2015, global sales of Coca-Cola Classic only grew by 1 percent, while sales of Diet Coke fell by 6 percent. A major rebranding could be what it takes to get consumer attention.
